At Book Baby (“we”, “our”, “the company”), we are committed to delivering high-quality publishing and related services. Because our services involve time, expertise, planning, and digital execution, this Refund Policy explains when refunds may or may not be granted.
By purchasing any service from Book Baby, you agree to this Refund Policy.
2. Upfront Payments
Our services require full or partial upfront payment before work begins.
Upfront payments secure your project slot, allocate resources, and initiate preparation and planning. As such, certain payments may be non-refundable once work has started.
3. Eligibility for Refunds
Refund eligibility depends on the stage of the project:
a) Before Work Has Begun
If you request cancellation before work has started, you may be eligible for a partial refund. Administrative, processing, and transaction fees may be deducted.
b) After Work Has Started
Once work has begun — including planning, research, editing, formatting, design, or consultation — refunds are generally not available, as resources and time have already been allocated to your project.
c) Completed Services
No refunds will be issued for services that have been fully delivered or completed.
4. Client Delays or Inactivity
If a client becomes unresponsive or fails to provide required materials within a reasonable timeframe, the project may be placed on hold.
Refunds will not be issued due to client delays, inactivity, or failure to provide necessary information.
5. Revisions & Corrections
We strive to ensure client satisfaction. If you are not satisfied with an aspect of your service, please contact us. Where applicable and within the agreed scope of work, we may offer revisions to address concerns.
Revisions do not qualify as grounds for refunds unless otherwise stated in your service agreement.
6. Non-Refundable Services
The following are generally non-refundable:
Services already delivered or completed
Custom design work
Editing and formatting services once initiated
Marketing or promotional services once launched
Third-party costs (e.g., advertising fees, platform fees, ISBN purchases)
7. Chargebacks & Payment Disputes
By purchasing our services, you agree to contact Book Baby directly to resolve any billing concerns before initiating a chargeback or payment dispute.
Unauthorized chargebacks may result in suspension of services and potential legal action.
8. Exceptional Circumstances
We reserve the right to evaluate refund requests on a case-by-case basis in exceptional situations. Any approved refund will be issued using the original payment method.
9. Processing Time
If a refund is approved, please allow 5–10 business days for processing. Processing times may vary depending on your financial institution.
